Acting Scenes and Monologues For Kids! has been updated in 2018.  The scenes have been performed often in our classes, with revisions resulting from those performances.  And ... we added new bonus 'shorty' scenes -- just a few lines each -- to the longer scenes and monologues that make up the bulk of the book. We hope you like the additions.   The sequel to this book was published in late 2017: "Acting Scenes and Monologues For Kids! VOLUME 2" containing more monologues, scenes, a section of scenes to be performed with an adult, and some 'shorty' scenes.  That book (the orange book) is just a bit more complex. Beethoven once wrote, "To play a wrong note is insignificant. To play without passion is inexcusable." Same with acting; play it with all you've got.  If you change or re-arrange my words, I'll get over it. Just let it fly, and have fun. Thanks.  Bo

About the Author
Bo Kane is a professional actor and acting coach who runs several on-camera acting classes for kids at On Your Mark Studios in Los Angeles, and has directed casting sessions for over 20 years in LA. As an actor, Bo has worked in television, films and commercials, most recently on Jane the Virgin and The Orville (2019), NCIS,  How To Get Away With Murder, Colony, Criminal Minds, Brooklyn 99, CSI, Dexter, Men Of A Certain Age, Outlaw, FlashForward, and The Unit and films such as The Ringer, Camouflage, and Man Of The House.He began his career in the 80's appearing in such films as El Norte, Child's Play, The Phantom, What's Love Got To Do With It, Born Into Exile ..... and on television in JAG, X-Files, General Hospital, Arli$$, Melrose Place, Magnificent Seven, Bold & Beautiful, Party of Five and many others. Bo and his wife have a son who is a working actor in television and film, and a daughter who is a freshman in the film dept. of UCLA,  and is a regular on Teens React. Bo was also the Special Olympic Equestrian Coach for many years and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.

I use this book for acting lessons. The kids really enjoy the different monologues. I also like that there are scenes I can act out with them. I ended up buying the second book. Highly recommend
Very good book for young children or beginners of any age interested in acting. Well packed and arrived on time.
Just what I needed for my elementary grades drama class -- clean, cute monologues. I would have also liked a book for teens, but the material in all of those is trash I wouldn't dream of having my teens use. I ended up using some of these for the teen class and found a few other free ones on line.
Easy to read, fun and a lot of content. I got this for my ten year old who has expressed an interest in learning how to act, he was delighted with it.

Yes, I'm related to the author. However, I am also a homebound teacher, substitute teacher and a Girl Scout leader. I have used this book, and his other book (for teens) in all of these capacities and found them to be worth their weight in gold. The kids love them.
