I was very moved by the way Stephanie tells her story in such an open and compelling way and with such raw emotions. Her openness with all aspects of her life story and how the journey has brought her to where she is today makes you feel as though you have been on the journey with her. Reading her book made me have my Ah Ha moment! She has expressed herself in a way that I believe the every day person can relate to and I believe this is why I have finally been able to identify some deep hidden resentments I had with people in my past that has held me back in certain areas. And this is coming from someone who has always worked through their issues and lives a positive life. I highly recommend this book for everyone but especially for those who have or are struggling with any type of addition.
A heartfelt book written to show the effects of Addiction, the willingness to break the cycle, the necessary component of forgiveness and the how to's for all that read this book. Stephanie's questions to the reader, prompt a personal opening for us to excavate our beliefs and find within a deep foundation of self love. I highly recommend...

I was immediately struck by her straightforward language and bravery in discussing a topic that still feels "taboo" for most of society, even though it's a growing problem. What's more, I was stunned by the similarities between living with an alcoholic and living with a trauma survivor (Holocaust). I felt that I was getting a peek into someone else's home that was eerily similar to mine. So even if you're not struggling to manage life with an alcoholic, but you're faced with coping with a family member with a different type of addiction or trauma, you'll find value in this fantastic book. Bravo, Stephanie!
From the first sentence, I was hooked by Stephanie's real and genuine story. Throughout the book, I felt like I was part of her journey. Her self expression is so relatable... I had many self reflection moments while reading. This is definitely a must read for anyone who has been impacted by a loved one facing addiction.
Ms. McAuliffe's insights into living and trying to help a loved one who is an addict are compelling and heart wrenching. Questions at the end of each chapter help the reader to reach into themselves and to seek the help they may need. Deals directly with very difficult issues.
Compulsively readable--I consumed it in a weekend. Stephanie's life experience is a clear road map on how to get to the other side of addiction dysfunctions. I am impressed with the amount of compassion she extends to herself and the people in her life. It's a demonstration of how to heal and find your happiness.
