Vast improvement over last year's collection of articles. Some real laugh out loud moments, and, strangely, a few "well I wondered about that myself but never thought anyone else would be nutty enough to, too" moments, particularly about the development of....food. Well, I DID wonder.Writing style comes acrost as if a burden has been lifted off his shoulders, and as a result his writing is equally light and much more personable this time around. Say what you will, the man has a way with words, and a writing style to die for, and I very much enjoyed devouring this book. A throwback to earlier ones in the series. If you are a fan, you'll understand me.
As a fervent "Top Gear" and "Grand Tour" fan, I picked this up because I so enjoy Mr. Clarkson and started laughing from the first page. I found myself reading it very slowly as I did not wish it to end. I found his observations of the passing parade to be full of wit and delightfully wicked truths.If he promises to write more.... I promise to Ignore split infinitives.
Clarkson is, as you may know, pretty full of himself. At least on TV. So a little goes a long way. But he does have some excellent points to make and and observations, and here he does so entertainingly. The book seems to be a reprint of various articles (I think - they are article length), which is OK. You can sit down, read one or two, then go off and do something else with no loss of continuity. Because there is no continuity anyway. Good quick read when you're in the can or on the bus or something.
This is another collection of his columns. His commentary on cars and society are always interesting and entertaining whether or not you agree with him. It doesn't matter if this is from a couple of years back or today. Still a fun read.
I've always thought that print was Clarksons media, and have only watched TG twice, because he has a way with words and a way of cutting through bulls*** that is at once both admirable and scathing! You may not agree with his point of view, you may in fact, wish to rub his head on the road in a brisk and forthright manner, but he will always make you smile, nay... laugh out loud, as I did with this selection of op-eds; thanks, Jeremy!

Enjoyable as always. If you are not familiar with Great Britain, you will find Google very helpful as many of his topics are very English. The Introduction in the book is about the period between his exit from TG and his employment with AP. Can't wait for the next book!
Sometimes , I don't need world ending fantasy or the a dark police procedural. Sometimes I need a 20 minutes of a middle aged bloke throwing darts at the absurdity of life but with good humor. And that's Clarkson.
