We have the Color Dogs book which is a more recent version of these books by this author and my daughter loves it so I decided to get this set for Christmas. These books are still cute but not quite as well done as the Color dogs book in both the photos, the interactive pieces, and the wording. Some of the parts don't quite line up (kids don't care so not a huge deal) and the wording feels a little awkward at times in each of the books. There aren't quite as many fun interactive pieces in these with some of the pages having just a bunch of pictures and maybe just a flap to lift. They are thick and heavy so the binding tends to loosen with use. Overall they are cute and my daughter still enjoys them but if I was going to get just one, I'd still go with Color Dogs over any of these.
= 2 thumbs from each grand child. These books are fabulous! Bought DOG as a shower gift for my first grand baby 8 years ago. It was her favorite book and her sisters favorite book. Then came baby #3. It was also his favorite book until it finally fell apart at age 1 1/2. I ordered the trilogy for him for x-mas. DOG is his favorite of the 3. And the poop and pee page is his favorite page just as it was both his sisters favorite page. The other day we got to the "poop" page and he went and got out a tooshie wipe and clean the page, LOL.
This is such a nice set. My two children love these books. My 1 year old adores the squeakers and my 4 year old loves to read and re-read these books. That being said, my 4 year old noticed that the MOO does not have the names of the animals at the end and he did not like that, as he likes to go through the books and identify the dogs/cats/mouse/bird etc. by name. I wonder why they didn't put the animals names at the end of the MOO book. He did love searching for the mouse in that MOO book, though! And, if you don't appreciate potty humor, which I don't love but don't mind (kids tend to think it is very funny), you will not like the DOG book.
My son (13 months) loves these books. He has had the dog one and loved it since he was 8 months but he also is going through a destructive phase and pulled the moving pieces off the book. I ordered the trio and we love it. I'm going to try to protect them a bit better than the first time around.
Very fun books that my kids love! Could do without the poop references but...Some of the moving/sliding parts get stuck easily and frustrate the kids,but otherwise great! Not as many furry,touchy feely pets to the book as I had hoped.
This is an awesome book set! If you have a child that loves animals this is good set to buy. We had the Moo one first when my daughter was about 4 months and had to replace it by the time she was one since she tore a lot of it out. She was probably too little to understand to not to pull the tabs so hard but she loved it so much. She still makes us read it 5 times a day everyday but now it's each book.
My 2 year old is obsessed with these books. We had the Moo book from years ago, but my son read it so many times that it was completely torn apart and in pieces. I finally bought this set and he looks all 3. They are pricey, but they are his favorite books.
We received these as a birthday gift and loved them so much that we decided to buy them for our friend's son for his birthday! It's interactive and fun. Our boys were only 2 when they got these but I can see this being a book they grown up with. Something they could self entertain with as they get older. Definitely a bed time favorite and must have!
